With a winter storm approaching, Gov. Nikki Haley has declared a State of Emergency for all of South Carolina.

The South Carolina National Guard is on alert to assist in any way needed, and the South Carolina Emergency Operations Center has been activated.

South Carolina Department of Transportation crews already have been putting salt on roads, but officials are asking drivers to stay at home as much as possible Tuesday and Wednesday.

Regarding closings, state government offices and their employees will follow the winter weather hazard decisions made by the county government officials where the state office is located.

Storm updates from the South Carolina Emergency Management Division are available here.
