A man and woman were arrested Tuesday as officers with the Lexington County multi-agency Narcotics Enforcement Team seized about 300 grams of cocaine with a street value of about $30,000, $25,028 in cash, eight firearms and less than one gram of crack cocaine.
Rashawn Stafford Gatson, 34, and Tyvona Latrice Toland, 27, both of 505 Swansea Road in Swansea, face charges of trafficking cocaine, possessing crack cocaine, possessing a weapon during the commission of a violent crime and possessing a firearm that had been reported stolen.
NET officers went to the home at 505 Swansea Road around 3:30 p.m. Tuesday and executed a search warrant, seizing the drugs, cash and guns, along with drug paraphernalia.
Deputies initially were to the home to assist Lexington County Animal Services officers in executing a search warrant in connection with an investigation concerning the condition and treatment of dogs that Gatson owns.
Deputies said they saw evidence of drugs and asked for assistance from NET officers.
